Tune Ups Include:
- Clean the outdoor coil using coil cleaner and water.
- Remove debris such as dirt, leaves, and twigs from around the unit.
- Ensure 2’ of clearing around the unit for proper airflow.
- Check the evaporator coil for dirt or dust build up, clean if necessary.
- Check for proper refrigerant levels.
- Address any leaks or imbalances in refrigerant levels.
- Inspect and tighten any electrical connections.
- Check the contactor, capacitor, and relays for wear or damage.
- Ensure the system cycles on and off properly.
- Flush the condensate drain to prevent clogs.
- Install drain chlorine tablets to prevent algae build up.
- Look for visible leaks in duct work around unit connections. Repair as necessary.
- Clean condensate pump if applicable
- Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations.
- Measure amp draw on major electrical component.
- Measure airflow temperature differences between the supply and return vents.
- Inspect and clean blower wheel.
- Inspect heat exchanger for rust, corrosion, or cracks.
- Check gas pressures.
- Clean flame sensor and burner assembly.
- Inspect vent pipe for cracks or leaks.
- Inspect heat strips for proper operation and amp draw.
- Inspect defrost operation.
- Set unit to cool or heat mode and test for proper operation.
